Church on a hill

A Church on a hill, that can tell many a tale, pulling us back into history. Of a high place attracting Paleolithic people to its viewpoint. And a Celtic hill fort, defending a village. Of viticulture introduced during the Gallo Roman era. And a castle constructed on a cutting of rock, defending against Vandal barbarians. Of its own, a Romanesque Church built on these foundations for Christians, in 12th century. And then, all given the Medieval name of Castelviel, an Old castle.
